A New Season

Scabiosa by Miroco Machiko
This beautiful illustration by Miroco Machiko feels like it was painted on the last night of summer when you know the next morning when you wake up everything will look different and you are on to a fresh new chapter.  I always feel a new beginning more strongly on September 1st than January 1st -- probably because I spent 19 of my 26 years going back to school in September.  But I love fall and am looking forward to this one for a lot of reasons.  Here's to a beautiful season.

Art Dog to the Rescue

This post is just a thank you to my little painting companion.  One of my biggest hesitations in getting a dog was that when I was trying to paint I would need to be worrying about her walking on my palette or chewing on a brush or who knows what.  But Nugget just gets cozy on the daybed next to my palette and keeps me company for hours, providing the perfect break for a look at my work from a distance and a belly rub.  Thanks Nug.

New Moderns

I am happy to (digitally) share the postcard above with you of an upcoming show: New Moderns.  I am really flattered to be showing alongside some of my favorite Philly painters and former classmates.  Hope to see you at the opening!
